Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking a Health Information Management Coordinator to oversee HIM staff, manage release of information, chart processing, and data integrity. The role may oversee birth registration and related reporting tasks as needed.

Initial training is on-site, with eventual remote work and occasional on-site participation; candidate must reside in Arizona and be available for 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• 1 year lead or supervisory experience required.
• 2 years in release of information, correspondence, master patient index maintenance, records analysis, medical records processing or related tasks.
• Experience with computers, telephones, fax, copy machines, and data entry; strong customer service skills.
• 2 years lead, coordinating, or supervisory experience preferred.
• 3 years in release of information, correspondence, or related records processing preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws relative to birth registration and confidentiality of patient health information.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient record processing and sets work priorities; ensures coverage in HIM areas.
• Trains HIM staff and monitors quality and productivity; provides feedback.
• Assists HIM staff with day-to-day activities to maintain coverage.
• Assists HIM leadership with performance and conduct issues.
• Participates in department safety initiatives and completes required competencies.
