Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking an experienced HIM support professional to coordinate the Health Information Management Team and ensure accurate, complete patient records. The role involves handling EMR applications, filing, scanning, and record tracking to maintain accessibility and integrity.

The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a virtual setting.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of Health Information Management or Healthcare Operations Applications procedures.
• Must successfully complete required training within 90 days of employment.
• Must be able to operate multi-line phones, faxes, and copy machines.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the coordination of the Health Information Management Teams to ensure effective and efficient operations.
• Utilizes EMR applications and Master Patient Index to create and review patient records.
• Reviews documentation and data in electronic and paper records to process requests for medical records.
• Analyzes and audits medical records to ensure completeness and data integrity.
• Coordinates and prioritizes workflows and deliverables of the HIM Team as directed by management.
• Prepares routine statistical reports as directed by the manager.
• Facilitates quality improvement processes within HIM workflows.
