Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Remote Customer Service professional to handle caller inquiries with a focus on first-call resolution. The role supports multiple departments and requires effective data gathering, problem-solving, and clear documentation.

Training is provided virtually from home, with hours aligned to PST business times. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year in a related environment using phones/computers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ year of experience in a related environment using phones and computers.
• Familiarity with Windows PC applications.
• Healthcare experience with appointments or health plans.
• Ability to work 8:00 am – 5:00 pm PST, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of factors driving caller questions/issues.
• Ask questions and listen to identify root causes.
• Gather data and perform initial investigation to determine scope.
• Coordinate internal resources to address client situations.
• Proactively contact external resources as needed to resolve issues.
• Utilize knowledge resources to drive issue resolution (CRM, Onyx, Siebel).
• Communicate steps/solutions to callers and offer workarounds.
• Make outbound calls to resolve questions/issues.
• Aim for first-call resolution and proper documentation.
