Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking a Technician - II to provide remote hands support in the data center environment, including racking, cabling, cross connects, and basic diagnostics.

You will collaborate with Deployment, Global Command Center, Provisioning and Project Management to meet delivery dates, maintain 100% uptime, and respond within SLA. Requires 3+ years in telecom/data center, strong communication, and willingness to work flexible shifts and on-call.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Telecommunications or Data Center field
• Understanding of telecom structured cabling standards
• Understanding of network device deployment
• Ability to communicate written and verbally
• Provide rotational on-call coverage
• Use of industry standard test equipment
• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• CompTIA A+ / Net+ certification preferred
• General knowledge of electrical theory
• Climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Perform Remote Hands services tracked through ticketing system, including rack and stack
• Cable, terminate, and dress fiber or copper network cabling
• Assist with hardware/software issue diagnosis on equipment
• Power cycling of customer equipment
• Perform cabinet/cage audits
• Install or remove blade/card, memory, hard drive, and transceivers
• Test and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic circuits
• Migrate equipment, power, or networking devices
• Handle shipping and receiving of packages
• Receive, install, and test cross connects of copper and fiber interconnections
• Use power and hand tools and document inventory
• Adhere to SOPs and maintain data center cleanliness
• Work flexible shift schedules and respond to emergencies within 1 hour average
