Job summary

Royper Royco LLC is seeking an engineering leader to drive health, delivery, and growth for a software pod in fintech. This hands-on manager will code, mentor, and collaborate with Product and tech leaders from a remote location in the United States.

You will manage 6–8 engineers, own planning and delivery health, and ensure clear ownership and excellent onboarding. A strong background in TypeScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering or engineering management experience.
• Experience leading a team of at least 5 engineers with hiring and performance management.
• Recent hands-on experience shipping production software with TypeScript.
• Backend experience plus familiarity with modern infrastructure and observability tools.
• Experience using AI tools in engineering workflows and AI product development practices.
• Startup or small-company background in fintech or lending software is helpful.
• Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a pod of 6–8 engineers with regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development.
• Own planning, retrospectives, delivery health, and communicate risks early.
• Contribute code regularly, targeting 10–20% of your time and 1–2 PRs per week.
• Partner with Product Managers and technical leads on priorities, architecture, and alignment.
• Improve onboarding, documentation, and clarity of ownership.
