FairMoney, a pioneering mobile banking platform expanding credit to emerging markets, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

You will own the technical direction for lending products, collaborate with Product, Data, Risk, and other stakeholders, and drive reliability and delivery across distributed systems. Remote work options available.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including backend systems.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
• AI native development familiarity.
• Hands-on coding and leading by example.
• Experience with lending/fintech or payments domain.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and scalable backend architectures.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers.
• Own the technical direction and delivery of systems supporting lending and credit products.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Data, and other teams to define technical solutions and priorities.
• Drive design, development, and scaling of reliable backend services and distributed systems.
• Set engineering standards around code quality, testing, deployment, observability, and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance, code reviews, architecture discussions, and problem solving.
• Address technical debt, bottlenecks, and reliability issues.
• Ensure planning, prioritisation, and timely delivery of initiatives.
• Establish and track engineering metrics around delivery and quality.
• Support incident management and root-cause analysis.
• Coach engineers on career development and performance.
• Participate in hiring to build a strong engineering team.
