Job summary

The Grassroots Manager, Montana and Wyoming, is remote and can be home-based within MT and WY. You will develop and execute local/state grassroots strategies, attract and lead volunteers, and drive fundraising while coordinating with ACS CAN staff and national teams.

Travel up to 20% is possible across MT and WY, with a focus on building relationships with officials and coalitions, ensuring compliance with all policies, and advancing cancer-related policy priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in political issues or campaign organizing strongly preferred.
• Experience attracting, developing, and engaging volunteers preferred.
• Fundraising experience is a plus.
• Experience using Salesforce, Every Action, or similar tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements comprehensive local and state grassroots strategies and advocacy campaigns, demonstrating volunteer constituent support for cancer-related policy initiatives.
• Supports federal campaigns and congressional champion building for the organization's issues, organizing volunteers to complete federal activities.
• Writes and disseminates emails to volunteers, legislative alerts, issue talking points, and training curriculum for a diverse audience.
• Plans and manages lobby days or similar events, including virtual events, to drive engagement and policy wins.
• Maintains ACS CAN web pages and social media accounts according to guidelines.
• Identifies and develops volunteers with personal stories related to ACS CAN's policy campaigns.
• Serves as the staff manager of the volunteer structure in the assigned geography and fills vacancies as needed.
• Implements Direct-Action Organizing principles to manage state campaigns.
• Coords campaign activities with grassroots/patient coalition partners and ACS CAN teams.
• Represents ACS CAN and its mission in a manner consistent with the brand.
• Establishes strategic collaborations and partnerships with other organizations.
• Ensures IRS and ACS CAN legal/reporting compliance in electoral activities.
• Follows all ACS CAN policies and guidelines.
