Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Government Relations to advance Ryder's public policy agenda across state and local levels while coordinating with cross-functional teams. The role focuses on project management, policy development, and education of key stakeholders to drive business priorities.

You will monitor legislation, build relationships with government entities and industry groups, and craft persuasive materials to support advocacy efforts, including external messaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Economics, Public Policy/Public Administration or related field, required.
• 5+ years professional work experience in government relations or related field, required.
• 3+ years navigating state/federal legislative, regulatory, and executive processes, required.
• 3+ years managing cross-functional projects or teams, required.
• 3+ years engagement with external affairs, public policy, sales, investor relations, and/or stakeholder management, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal government relations programs, policies, and initiatives with project management support.
• Monitor and analyze federal, state, and local regulations and legislation relevant to Ryder; define and track advocacy outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather content for policy development and external messaging.
• Develop analyses, talking points, and materials to support government relations objectives; manage contributors and vendors.
• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders including governments, trade associations, customers, and consultants.
