Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Manager of Government Relations to support state, local, and federal policy initiatives, manage programs, coordinate cross-functional teams, and develop policy communications to advocate Ryder’s business priorities.

You will build relationships with government officials, industry groups, and internal stakeholders, delivering measurable advocacy outcomes while ensuring compliance across jurisdictions. This role reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Affairs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in political science, economics, public policy or related field.
• 5+ years of professional work experience in government relations or related field.
• 3+ years navigating state/federal legislative, regulatory, and executive processes.
• 3+ years managing cross-functional projects or teams for corporations, governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or relevant area.
• 3+ years engagement with external affairs, public policy, sales, investor relations, and/or stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal government relations programs and policy initiatives with project management support.
• Monitor and analyze federal, state, and local regulations; track advocacy outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather content and integrate strategies.
• Develop analyses, talking points, and materials to support government relations objectives.
• Liaison with stakeholders including governments, trade associations, customers, and consultants.
