Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Manager of Government Relations to advance policy initiatives at state and local levels and to support select federal efforts.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Affairs, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, develop policy content, and manage projects end-to-end to drive Ryder’s business priorities. You will educate stakeholders, monitor legislation, and build relationships with government officials, trade associations, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Economics, Public Policy/Public Administration or related field.
• 5+ years of professional work experience in government relations or a related field.
• 3+ years navigating state/federal legislative, regulatory, and executive processes.
• 3+ years managing cross-functional projects or teams for corporations, governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or relevant area.
• 3+ years engagement with external affairs, public policy, sales, investor relations, and/or stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal government relations programs with project management support.
• Monitor and analyze federal, state, and local regulations and track advocacy outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather qualitative and quantitative content for government relations initiatives.
• Develop analyses, talking points, and materials to support government relations objectives.
• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders including governments, trade associations, customers, and consultants.
