Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in the United States seeks a Manager Government Relations to support state and local policy, manage projects, and develop internal policy while contributing to select federal initiatives.

The role reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Affairs, collaborates with SMEs, and develops analyses and talking points to advance Ryder’s policy priorities. Travel up to 20–30% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Economics, Public Policy/Public Administration or related field, required.
• 5+ years Professional work experience in government relations and/or a related field, required.
• 3+ years Experience navigating state/federal legislative, regulatory, and executive processes, required.
• 3+ years Managing cross-functional projects or teams for corporations, governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or relevant area, required.
• 3+ years Engagement with external affairs, public policy, sales, investor relations, and/or stakeholder management, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the internal government relations programs, policies, and initiatives of Ryder by providing full project management support.
• Monitor and analyze federal, state, and local regulations and legislation relevant to Ryder and define and track measurable advocacy outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and SMEs to identify and gather content to advance government relations strategies.
• Develop written analyses, talking points, advocacy, and materials to support Ryder’s government relations objectives and manage contributors.
• Liaison and manage relationships with internal/external stakeholders, including governments, trade associations, customers, and consultants.
• Maintain working knowledge of Ryder’s advocacy priorities, regulations, and legislation impacting the company and stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
