Job summary

Code for America is seeking an Associate Director of Government Partnerships to secure and grow government partnerships across state and local agencies. You will own a portfolio, lead cross-functional pitches, and oversee proposals, MOUs, and decks to drive signed agreements.

The role requires five years’ experience with government partnerships, strong relationship management, and the ability to shape offerings and pitches.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years securing partnerships with state/local government agencies.
• Proven track record taking government partnerships from first conversation to signed agreement, including MOUs, data sharing agreements, and SOWs.
• Experience managing government accounts or relationships and growing them over time.
• Ability to shape offerings and build the pitch, including what to lead with and who to target.
• Exceptional written communication, especially follow-up emails, proposals, MOUs, and slides.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities while keeping quality high across proposals and records.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of state and local government accounts, building trusted relationships from first conversation through signed agreement.
• Shape offerings for government partners with program, product, and engineering teams.
• Own pitch materials and partnership infrastructure behind this work, including decks, case studies, and proposals, and drive follow-up.
• Lead cross-functional path to signature across Legal, Privacy, Security, and delivery teams.
• Maintain accurate account and pipeline records and provide regular updates to leadership.
• Mentor colleagues on Strategic Partnerships best practices.
