Job summary

The American Heart Association seeks an Operations Manager, Government Grants to provide end-to-end operational support for federal grants within the Office of Funded Programs. The role is full-time, grant-funded with potential extension, and location-flexible or home-based.

Reporting to the National Government Funding Director, you will help coordinate grant lifecycle activities, manage budgets, ensure compliance, and support PIs and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in grants, budgets, or programs.
• Familiarity with federal grant rules and cost principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project and grant activities across the lifecycle.
• Review expenses, invoices, and cost transfers for accuracy and compliance.
• Support budget planning, forecasting, and approvals with Finance and OFP.
• Assist with personnel allocations, salary distributions, and effort documentation.
• Prepare documentation for subrecipients and contractors, including forms and reporting.
• Draft responses and maintain logs for program milestones and deliverables.
• Track and escalate issues related to compliance, approvals, and reporting.
• Support closeout activities and record retention for grants.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
