Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Local Government Affairs Manager in a remote role based in Texas. You will serve as the public face of Zipline with state and local officials, shaping policy and driving regulatory approvals for autonomous drone delivery.

In this role you will build trusted relationships, monitor local proposals, coordinate site visits, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational continuity while scaling Zipline’s impact for communities across metros.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of government affairs experience at the state or local level
• Experience at the intersection of public policy and new technology
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with policy development, advocacy and regulatory engagement

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with local government officials in Zipline's service areas
• Serve as expert on local issues related to autonomous drone delivery, safety, privacy, and land use
• Collaborate cross-functionally on land use, permitting, and local approvals
• Coordinate and lead site visits and events for government officials across metros
• Help develop processes for operational continuity and keep systems updated
• Monitor local policy proposals and advise Zipline engagement
• Execute routine outreach to elected officials and track follow-up inquiries
• Help manage relationships with third-party advocacy groups
• Represent Zipline in public settings like council meetings and conferences
