Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Cloud Data & Automation Engineer to manage large-scale evidentiary data in AWS GovCloud. The role emphasizes data migration, automation, lifecycle management, replication, archival, and secure data movement across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem environments.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on Python, AWS CLI, S3/Glacier, DataSync, and NetApp ONTAP/SnapMirror experience, with 8+ years of related work and a degree in a relevant field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree requested with 8+ years experience; equivalent work experience considered.
• 5+ years cloud engineering or data engineering experience.
• 3+ years hands‑on AWS experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python and AWS CLI automation for cloud data operations.
• Design, execute, and troubleshoot large-scale data migration and transfer workflows.
• Support AWS DataSync workflows for high-volume data transfers.
• Configure and manage Amazon S3 storage and lifecycle policies.
• Implement and support S3/Glacier archival and retrieval workflows.
• Support NetApp ONTAP and SnapMirror replication activities.
• Migrate active datasets to FSx ONTAP and historical ones to S3/Glacier.
• Automate data movement, synchronization, validation, archival, and retrieval processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot large-scale data transfers, synchronization, storage, and performance.
