Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Cloud Data & Automation Engineer to support migration and ongoing management of a large-scale evidentiary data environment within AWS GovCloud. The role emphasizes data migration, automation, storage lifecycle management, replication, archival, retrieval, and secure data movement across AWS, Azure, and VA on-premises systems.

Ideal candidates have strong Python and AWS CLI skills, hands-on experience with S3/Glacier, DataSync, NetApp ONTAP, SnapMirror, and large-scale

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering, Engineering or related field plus 8+ years of experience.
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, data engineering, or cloud automation.
3+ years of hands-on AWS experience and experience in AWS GovCloud or regulated clouds.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Python and AWS CLI automation for cloud data operations.
Design, execute, and troubleshoot large-scale data migration and transfer workflows.
Support AWS DataSync workflows for high-volume data transfers.
Configure and manage Amazon S3 storage and lifecycle policies.
Implement and support S3/Glacier archival and retrieval workflows.
Support NetApp ONTAP and SnapMirror replication activities.
Migrate active datasets to FSx ONTAP and historical datasets to S3/Glacier.
Automate data movement, synchronization, validation, archival, and retrieval processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot large-scale data transfers and storage operations.
Manage and optimize cloud storage, transfer, archival, and retrieval costs.
