Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH is seeking a Network Account Manager to manage relationships with national and international carriers and fiber providers. You will shape strategy, negotiate terms, and drive cost savings while ensuring scalable, high-performance connectivity for Akamai's data centers.

You will collaborate with internal teams to optimize commercial terms, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely capacity upgrades.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Center Management or related field.
• Excellent commercial and contractual negotiation skills.
• Practical understanding of IP Transit, Waves/DWDM, PNI, fiber connectivity, colocation and cross-connects.
• Solid data analysis and financial skills with ability to evaluate pricing, total cost, savings opportunities and business cases.
• Strong organization and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities across vendors, projects and internal teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and collaborate across geographies.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with national and international carriers and service providers to deploy connectivity between data centers.
• Partner with internal infrastructure teams to establish optimal commercial terms for network expansions.
• Collaborate with the Akamai Data Center team to identify terms for fiber builds.
• Identify cost-effective partnerships with existing and new vendors and execute agreements.
• Manage contract negotiations to ensure Akamai platforms can scale and support customers.
• Ensure capacity upgrades are performed in a timely and effective manner with provisioning teams.
