Job summary

Harbor is seeking a Senior Director, Global Controller to lead Harbor’s global accounting, financial reporting, and controllership function. This hands-on role reports to the CFO and drives close governance, policy, internal controls, and scalable processes across the US, UK, Canada, and other locations.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting and reporting expertise, with the leadership and collaboration needed in Harbor’s fast-paced global environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive accounting, financial reporting and controllership in a global, multi-entity setting.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, close governance, audits, reconciliations, and policy/controls.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to document complex matters.
• Experience leading and developing accounting/financial reporting teams.
• Solid understanding of ERP data flows, close management, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead Harbor’s global accounting, financial reporting, and controllership activities across regions.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and well-supported financial results for leadership decision-making.
• Oversee global close governance, calendars, reporting deliverables, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
• Maintain and evolve accounting policies, documentation, and controls for consistency.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting matters (revenue, accruals, leases, intercompany, acquisitions).
• Strengthen scalable controls and support audit readiness with external auditors and advisors.
• Partner with tax advisors to ensure compliance and tax efficiency.
• Lead and mentor accounting teams; drive collaboration with the business and senior leaders.
• Support M&A diligence, integration, and opening balance sheet reviews.
