GKN Aerospace is seeking a Global Commodity Buyer - Direct Material to manage procurement expenditure and maintain strategic supplier relationships. The role emphasizes delivering cost-effective supply bases, aligning commodity strategy with site requirements, and supporting the commodity management team across programs.

The position is remote, with responsibilities expanding toward autonomous decision-making at senior levels and collaboration with global teams to drive value across aerospace

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years Commodity Management / experience; aerospace experience preferred.
• Ability to interact with people at different levels and work in a team.
• Ability to lead negotiations and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Support strategic sourcing for the relevant commodity to maximise leverage of direct material.
• Assist commodity team to meet objectives related to cost savings, economics, quality, supplier development.
• Lead commodity activities in coordination with costing and engineering to gain competitive advantage.
• Develop commodity strategies and ensure alignment with site and programme requirements.
• Assist in Make or Buy analyses and data preparation for gate reviews.
• Enable cross-functional leverage across the GKN global network.
