Job summary

City of New York’s Department of City Planning seeks a Mapping and Spatial Records Specialist to build the city‑wide GIS City Map and convert street title data into a seamless digital format using ArcGIS Pro.

You will update coverages after rezonings, prepare sketch maps for City Map changes, and coordinate with agencies and the public. Remote work up to 2 days weekly may be available.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in city planning or related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of city planning experience may substitute.
• Graduate education may substitute for experience per policy; baccalaureate degree required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the city-wide GIS dataset for the City Map.
• Convert street title data and City Map to digital formats using ArcGIS.
• Update digital coverages after rezonings and amendments.
• Prepare sketch maps for proposed City Map changes and distribute to stakeholders.
• Assist in processing City Map and street title data change requests.
• Coordinate with city agencies, external partners, and constituents.
• Additional tasks as required.
