Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology to support strategic priorities. This remote role covers the Southern-Midwest region in the United States, with up to 50% travel.

The position requires a PhD/MD-type credential and strong immunology expertise, along with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. You will engage with national and regional GI/IBD scientific leaders, provide balanced medical information, and

Qualifications

PhD/MD-level credentials with relevant immunology experience.
Ability to conduct high-level scientific discussions with external stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management.
Proven ability to operate in a field-based Medical Affairs team.

Responsibilities

Develops relationships with national/regional GI/IBD SLs to provide company-approved medical information.
Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions and serves as medical contact for SLs.
Addresses scientific questions outside scope and directs to appropriate resources.
Maintains current AOI knowledge and evolving scientific landscape.
Initiates discussions with SLs/investigators for scientific/data exchange.
Recommends sites/investigators for trials and supports protocol leadership with GCTO.
Engages in scientific congresses and meetings to share data.
Gathers feedback to inform company scientific needs and priorities.
