Job summary

Worky is seeking a Software Engineer to join our technology team as we build methane detection and geospatial data platforms. You will own features from design through deployment, writing production code and participating in code reviews.

You’ll work closely with product teams to translate requirements into robust software and help expand our geospatial tooling. You will contribute to architecture decisions, prototype quickly, and ship reliable, tested software using modern tooling.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional software development experience with production systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex CLI, or similar).
• Strong backend skills with Python and SQL/relational databases.
• Frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, product and stakeholders to build high-quality tools.
• Develop and maintain full-stack features across modern web apps, including backend APIs and frontend UIs.
• Create geospatial visualizations using Mapbox GL JS and deck.gl.
• Design and consume event-driven services using Kafka for real-time data streaming.
• Build and operate cloud-native infrastructure (AWS: SQS, SNS, S3, MSK; Docker; Kubernetes).
• Ship changes via GitLab CI/CD and evolve DB schemas with migrations (Flyway).
• Instrument systems with logging, metrics, and alerts; own features end-to-end and participate in on-call rotation.
