Job summary

Triwill Group is seeking a Software Engineer to build and scale methane detection and geospatial data platforms. You’ll own features end‑to‑end, write production code, and contribute to architecture while collaborating with product teams.

The role emphasizes hands‑on development across backend, frontend, and data tooling. The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of software experience, a CS/engineering degree, and proficiency in Python, SQL, React, and modern cloud tooling.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional software development experience with a track record of shipping robust, production‑grade applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
• Hands‑on experience with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex CLI, or similar).
• Strong command of Python and SQL with PostgreSQL.
• Frontend development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React (or similar).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain tradeoffs clearly.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, product team, and stakeholders to build high‑quality tools that meet business objectives.
• Develop and maintain full‑stack features from backend to frontend interfaces.
• Create geospatial visualizations and map‑based interfaces using Mapbox GL JS and deck.gl.
• Design and consume event‑driven services using Kafka for real‑time data streaming.
• Build and operate cloud‑native infrastructure using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and background workers.
• Ship changes through GitLab CI/CD and manage versioned database migrations with Flyway.
• Instrument systems with logging, metrics, and alerts and participate in on‑call rotations.
