Job summary

Nearmap is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the API team to lead backend engineers and deliver scalable API platforms. You will collaborate with Product to design solutions and coach team members to maximize potential, tackling end-to-end data processing, AI pipelines, and real-time geospatial delivery.

You will influence architecture choices, champion best practices, and drive the reliability of systems powering global customers, including a new Warsaw engineering hub.

Qualifications

• Backend fundamentals and software architecture knowledge.
• Experience leading backend teams delivering scalable APIs.
• Strong communication and collaboration across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Champion evolution of Nearmap’s geospatial data platform, including storage, AI pipelines, and content delivery.
• Ensure sub-second latency and high-throughput APIs and internal services.
