Job summary

AES Corporation's Clean Energy team seeks a Generator Modeling Engineer to oversee generator models through the project lifecycle for ACE’s renewable portfolio. You will model generators from interconnection studies through construction and operations, collaborating with consultants and utilities.

The role requires experience with PSSE/PSLF, interconnection packages, MOD and PRC standards, and strong data gathering and documentation skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering.
1–5 years of generator modeling experience.
Interconnection package experience.
Ability to work remotely and independently.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and submit generator models for interconnection packages, ISO, and NERC requirements.
Ensure generator model builds meet Transmission Planner and Planning Coordinator expectations.
Gather data from manufacturers, contractors, and external consultants.
Verify generator models with substation schematics, inverter/turbine settings, and plant controller behavior.
Track and implement generator model upgrades per ISO and NERC requirements.
Respond to modeling requests from Transmission Planner/Planning Coordinator.
Oversee model validation tests for MOD-025, MOD-026, MOD-027 verifications.
Guide projects for compliance with MOD standards and PRC-024 ride-through requirements.
