Job summary

The AES Clean Energy (ACE) team is seeking a dynamic Generator Modeling Engineer to oversee generator models from interconnection through construction and operations. You will work with consultants and utilities in a rapidly growing company, tackling complex modeling tasks and coordinating across departments.

This role emphasizes self-direction, problem solving, and delivering compliant models. Ideal candidates have 1–5 years in modeling software (PSSE, PowerWorld, PSLF) and interconnection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Experience with PSSE, PSLF, and PowerWorld.
• Interconnection package experience.
• Understanding of MOD standards and PRC-024.
• Ability to develop formal documentation and technical reports.
• Strong organizational skills and prioritization.
• Ability to work remotely and independently for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit generator models for interconnection packages and ISO/NET requirements.
• Ensure models meet ride-through and reactive power requirements.
• Gather data from manufacturers, contractors, and consultants.
• Verify models against substation schematics and plant behavior.
• Track generator model upgrades per ISO and NERC obligations.
• Respond to modeling requests from planners and coordinators.
• Oversee model validation testing per MOD standards (MOD-025, MOD-026, MOD-027).
• Guide projects to meet MOD and PRC-024 ride-through requirements.
