Job summary

AES Corporation, through AES Renewables & Power, is developing gas generation projects for large commercial and industrial customers and data centers. This role leads development from concept to construction, coordinating across engineering, commercial, legal, and finance teams.

Bases in the United States with remote options, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient projects while managing schedules, budgets, and permits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 500MW of natural gas generation project development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Environmental Science or related field.
• Knowledge of project development, permitting, utility coordination, interconnection, pipeline infrastructure, and commercial contracting.
• Experience with fuel supply strategies, utilities, pipeline operators, or integrated energy infrastructure.
• Familiarity with gas generation technologies.
• Ability to collaborate across technical, commercial, and customer-facing teams.
• Experience supporting data centers, large-load customers, powered land projects, or similar infrastructure developments (preferred).
• Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to balance multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as projects and business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Lead gas generation project development from site identification through construction support.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Data Center Development, Renewable Generation Development, Solutions Engineering, and others to develop integrated Powered Land Solutions.
• Evaluate feasibility via siting, fuel supply, interconnection, infrastructure, and permitting.
• Manage schedules, budgets, forecasts, financial models, and development risk registers.
• Coordinate pipeline identification, utility engagement, and fuel supply strategy with negotiations.
• Work with engineers, permitting agencies, landowners, utilities, customers, and contractors to milestones.
• Support discretionary permitting, public meetings, regulatory engagement, and environmental diligence.
• Coordinate engineering, site due diligence, land activities, and infrastructure planning.
• Manage contracts and ensure compliance with site control, fuel supply, and commercial contracts.
• Identify project risks, mitigation, and updates to leadership.
• Support financing due diligence and documenting in AES systems.
• Lead handoffs to Construction after milestones.
• Represent AES professionally building relationships with customers, partners, regulators, communities.
