Job summary

Penguin Random House IT is seeking a Developer to join a small, agile team in a dynamic environment. Open to remote work, you will contribute to web projects across the PRH Applications suite, delivering high-quality features for internal and external users, while collaborating with business units and external resources.

The role emphasizes frontend and backend development, RESTful APIs, and automation within a modern tech stack including WordPress, AWS, Docker, and CI/CD tooling.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience working with web-based technologies.
• Strong knowledge with modern web standards including HTML5, CSS3, and ES6+.
• Basic understanding of WordPress development and AWS environment (S3, containers, Lambda, Cognito).
• Familiarity with agile software development methodology and source control.

Responsibilities

• Work on existing and new web projects in the PRH Applications suite to support internal and external users.
• Build, test, ship, and iterate these technology products during their launch and early lifecycle as they grow and scale.
• Collaborate with team to meet timetables with partner teams inside and outside PRH.
• Engage in full-stack development across frontend and backend, infrastructure, and services.
• Develop with a focus on automation, RESTful APIs, and DevOps practices.
