Job summary

Penguin Random House LLC is seeking a Developer for the IT group, with a strong focus on web technologies and accessible, scalable services. This full-time role supports both internal and external users through modern front- and back-end development, testing, and automation.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of web experience, WordPress familiarity, and solid AWS knowledge. The role emphasizes collaboration, RESTful APIs, and DevOps in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience with web technologies.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and ES6+.
• Basic WordPress development familiarity.
• Knowledge of AWS services (S3, Lambda, Cognito, containers).
• Awareness of accessibility and OWASP Top 10 security threats.
• Databases: MySQL and PostgreSQL with complex queries.
• Familiarity with AI tools and Copilot/LLMs.
• OO design and agile software development.

Responsibilities

• Work on existing and new web projects in PRH Applications to support users.
• Build, test, ship, and iterate product launches and lifecycles.
• Collaborate with teams to meet timetables with partner teams.
• Handle full-stack development including infrastructure, services, frontend.
• Participate in AWS-based infrastructure, RESTful APIs, and DevOps.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Demonstrate strong problem solving and decision making.
• Multi-task and stay composed across tasks.
