Job summary

McKesson Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain web-based healthcare software applications using Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, and Node.js. The role involves front-end and back-end work across React/Angular/Vue, with emphasis on clean, maintainable code and HIPAA compliance.

You will collaborate with product managers and other engineers in an Agile environment and have the option to telecommute from a home office.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required with seven years of relevant experience.
• 7 years of full stack development experience including Ruby on Rails.
• 4 years frontend experience with React, Typescript, Node.js, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JS frameworks.
• 6 years building RESTful and GraphQL APIs with Rails.
• 7 years with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server.
• 2 years with Redis and Memcached for cache optimization.
• 2 years with Docker for CI/CD pipelines.
• 2 years with Terraform and Kubernetes for infra orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web-based healthcare software applications.
• Write clean, maintainable code; collaborate in cross-functional teams.
• Adhere to HIPAA and data privacy standards.
• Design and implement features, APIs, and background processing services.
• Write unit, integration, and functional tests with RSpec or Minitest.
• Work with relational databases and optimize SQL queries.
• Follow RESTful design principles for secure, scalable services.
