Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a Frontier Engineer (AI/Agentic) to help build scalable, cost-optimized AI-enabled solutions across client projects. You’ll join a cross-functional pod with engineers, data scientists, and AI practitioners to deliver measurable outcomes.

The role emphasizes full-stack or backend development, APIs, databases, cloud-native components, and responsible AI practices, with a flexible remote/hybrid work model and possible office days in major US

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience building software applications using Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
• Fundamental knowledge of software engineering principles including OOP, data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, and design.
• Exposure to full-stack or backend development concepts, APIs, databases, and backend integration.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Use AI-assisted tools to build, test, and deploy software applications, APIs, and secure systems.
• Support AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, and automation solutions.
• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain full-stack apps, backend services, APIs, databases, and cloud components.
• Assess AI outputs for quality, accuracy, and business relevance.
• Contribute to knowledge systems, retrieval workflows, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Apply responsible AI practices and continuously learn new tools.
