Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation, through the Cognizant Forward team, seeks a Frontier Engineer (AI/Agentic) to build scalable, secure AI-enabled solutions across cross-functional pods. You will work with engineers, data scientists, and AI practitioners on modern software and cloud-native components.

You will apply responsible AI principles, evaluate AI outputs, and contribute to deployment, monitoring, and documentation while staying current with AI tools and practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
• Foundational knowledge of OOP, data structures, algorithms, testing.
• Exposure to full-stack or backend development concepts and APIs.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Use AI-assisted and augmented development tools to build, test, debug, deploy, and enhance software applications, APIs, and scalable, secure systems.
• Support the development of AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, and automation solutions, including context and harness engineering.
• Design, develop, integrate, and support full-stack applications, backend services, APIs, databases, and cloud-native application components.
• Help evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
• Contribute to knowledge and context systems, retrieval workflows, testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support.
• Apply responsible AI principles and software engineering best practices while continuously learning new tools and technologies.
