Job summary

The Cognizant Forward team seeks a Frontier Engineer (AI/Agentic) to build scalable, cost-optimized AI-enabled solutions. You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and AI practitioners in a cross-functional pod to deliver measurable client outcomes.

Responsibilities include developing AI-enabled apps, APIs, and cloud-native components, evaluating AI outputs, and upholding responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
• Experience with Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
• Foundational knowledge of software engineering principles including OOP, data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, and design.
• Exposure to full-stack or backend concepts, APIs, databases, and cloud integration.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Use AI-assisted tools to build, test, deploy, and enhance software applications, APIs, and scalable systems.
• Support AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, and automation solutions.
• Design and develop full‑stack applications, backend services, APIs, databases, and cloud components.
• Evaluate AI outputs for quality, performance, and business relevance.
• Contribute to knowledge bases, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Apply responsible AI principles and best practices while learning new tools.
