Job summary

Cognizant is hiring a Frontier Engineer (AI/Agentic) to help build scalable, cost-optimized AI-enabled solutions. You will work with engineers, data scientists, and AI practitioners in a cross-functional pod to design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack systems and APIs in a cloud environment.

You will evaluate AI outputs, contribute to knowledge systems, and apply responsible AI practices while learning new tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, Mathematics or related technical discipline.
• Experience programming in one or more languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
• Foundational knowledge of software engineering principles including OOP, data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, and design.
• Exposure to full-stack or backend development concepts, APIs, databases, and cloud integration.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Use AI-assisted tools to build, test, deploy, and enhance software applications, APIs, and scalable, secure systems.
• Support AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, and automation solutions.
• Design, develop, integrate, and support full-stack applications, backend services, APIs, databases, and cloud-native components.
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
• Contribute to knowledge and context systems, retrieval workflows, testing, deployment, monitoring, and documentation.
