Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is hiring a Frontier Engineer (AI/Agentic) to build scalable, secure AI-enabled solutions within a cross-functional team. You will work with engineers, data scientists, and AI practitioners on full-stack and backend systems, API design, and cloud-native components.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development, responsible AI practices, and ongoing learning, with potential remote or hybrid work and start cohorts in 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Experience building software applications with Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
• Foundational knowledge of software engineering principles including OOP, data structures, algorithms, testing.
• Exposure to full-stack or backend development concepts (APIs, databases, architecture).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Use AI-assisted and augmented development tools to build, test, debug, deploy, and enhance software applications, APIs, and scalable, secure systems.
• Support the development of AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, and automation solutions, including context and harness engineering.
• Design, develop, integrate, and support full-stack applications, backend services, APIs, databases, and cloud-native application components.
• Help evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, performance, and business relevance.
• Contribute to knowledge and context systems, retrieval workflows, testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and operational support.
• Apply responsible AI principles and software engineering best practices while continuously learning new tools and technologies.
