Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning is seeking an experienced Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to provide strategic financial leadership, reporting to the CFO, and overseeing budgeting, forecasting, modeling, performance analysis, and long-term planning. This remote role supports mission-driven growth and financial sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, scenario planning, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate financial and operational data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience collaborating effectively with executive leaders and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Experience with financial systems, ERP platforms, budgeting software, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to develop and implement Aspire’s financial strategy.
• Lead multi-year financial planning in support of organizational growth, service delivery innovation, and long-term sustainability.
• Provide financial analysis, recommendations, and decision support for executive leadership and Board reporting.
• Lead the organization-wide annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and operational realities.
• Partner with operational leaders to improve budget development, monitoring, and accountability.
• Analyze budget-to-actual results and identify trends, variances, and corrective actions.
• Deliver timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting to executive and operational leaders.
• Translate complex financial data into clear insights and recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
• Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial and operational performance.
• Build strong working relationships with program, operational, and administrative leaders.
• Strengthen financial literacy and decision-making capabilities across the organization.
• Promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
• Collaborate with accounting, grants management, compliance, and other teams to support financial integrity.
