Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning in Connecticut seeks an experienced Director of FP&A to provide strategic financial leadership across the organization. Reporting to the CFO, this role leads budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, performance analysis, and long-term financial planning.

The position partners with executive leadership to turn complex financial information into clear insights, support data-informed decisions, drive growth, risk management, and sustainability for mission-driven programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, scenario planning, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting.
• Ability to translate financial and operational data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing high-performing finance or analytics teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience with nonprofit financial management, grants, contracts, or reimbursement-based funding models.

Responsibilities

• Partner with CFO and senior leadership to develop and implement Aspire’s financial strategy.
• Lead multi-year financial planning in support of organizational growth and sustainability.
• Provide financial analysis, recommendations, and decision support for leadership and Board reporting.
• Develop rolling forecasts, scenario analyses, and financial models to anticipate risks and opportunities.
• Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to executive and operational leaders.
• Translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of financial analysts.
• Promote transparency, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
