Job summary

Rocky Mountain Institute is seeking a Development Officer- Foundations to lead a portfolio of foundation donors and prospects. You will partner with program staff to shape fundraising strategy, craft compelling proposals, and steward key relationships to advance RMI's clean energy mission.

The role emphasizes donor engagement, data-driven prospect research, and cross-team collaboration. You will travel up to 25% as needed and contribute to long-term fundraising goals within a remote-friendly,

Qualifications

5+ years work experience in nonprofit development, with a track record of securing philanthropic gifts.
Experience managing foundation or institutional relationships and complex partnerships.
Ability to translate program impact into compelling proposals and materials.

Responsibilities

Advance foundation relationships to secure large philanthropic contributions.
Identify and cultivate a portfolio of 40 new and prospective foundations.
Collaborate with program teams to understand initiatives and build fundraising strategies.
Prepare briefs, plans, and materials for meetings with donors and partners.
Travel up to 25% of the time as needed.
