Job summary

Rocky Mountain Institute seeks a Development Officer, Foundations to lead foundation fundraising efforts, manage a broad portfolio, and build strategic proposals in collaboration with program teams.

The role focuses on identifying prospects, cultivating relationships, and stewarding gifts to support RMI's clean energy initiatives. Remote-ready with domestic travel, and a competitive compensation package including a 10% bonus target.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years nonprofit development experience with philanthropic grants.
• Experience managing foundation or complex external relationships.
• Proven track record in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts.
• Experience with proposal, grant, or partnership development processes.

Responsibilities

• Advance foundation relationships to secure six-figure philanthropic contributions.
• Identify, qualify, solicit, and steward a portfolio of foundation accounts with 40+ prospects.
• Collaborate with program teams to build compelling proposals and reports.
• Document relationships and financial projections in Salesforce for portfolio management.
• Support cross-functional teams to advance fundraising opportunities.
