GRID Alternatives is seeking a Foundation Development Officer to lead major foundation partnerships in Colorado, Mid-Atlantic and Mexico. You will work with regional directors to grow funding and manage a portfolio of funders while advancing equity in renewable energy and workforce development.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic fundraising, and collaboration within a national philanthropy team. Remote-friendly with some travel.

Qualifications

• Passionate advocate for renewable energy, affordable housing, workforce development, and environmental justice work.
• Ability to develop a prospecting strategy to secure new funders.
• 4+ years nonprofit fundraising or grantmaking with major 5–7 figure partnerships.
• Exceptional persuasive writing, including grant writing and communications.
• Excellent organizational skills and deadline discipline.
• Strong collaboration and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead efforts to raise major 5–7 figure funding partnerships from local foundations.
• Manage a portfolio of funders with annual and multi-year grants and reports.
• Provide thought leadership and drive collaboration on fundraising strategy and case for support.
• Join the national fundraising team to develop long-term fund development strategies.
• Promote a Culture of Philanthropy across the organization.
• Engage with GRID Colorado/Mid-Atlantic/Southern California affiliates to deepen knowledge and relationships.
