Job summary

Epiq Advisory for Law Firms is seeking a Forward Deployed Legal Engineer to redesign legal work through AI-enabled workflows. You will work hands-on with law firm clients to diagnose inefficiencies, translate legal needs into AI agents, prompts, and automated processes, and deliver practical, governed solutions.

The role requires a JD or equivalent, strong legal-domain fluency, and experience with large language models in applied legal settings.

Qualifications

• JD or comparable legal training is required.
• Hands-on experience creating AI agents and working with modern LLMs, including prompting and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across legal and delivery groups.
• Understanding of law firm culture, workflows, and risk considerations.

Responsibilities

• Work with law firm clients to translate needs into AI-enabled workflows.
• Identify and document AI use cases; prototype concepts using AI tools.
• Design agent-centric workflows, prompts, and evaluation criteria for legal work.
• Partner with AI Enablement and delivery teams to define requirements and data inputs.
• Map current and future-state workflows and support adoption plans.
