Rimkus, a global leader in engineering and forensic consulting, seeks a Building Consultant to provide expert analysis of structural and building envelope issues for clients and legal proceedings.

You will perform site evaluations, prepare detailed reports, and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and legal professionals. Travel to site locations and potential expert testimony are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture or related field.
• 5+ years in building consulting, forensic engineering, or construction inspection.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and industry standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with construction estimating software (Xactimate) is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Perform detailed inspections and assessments of building structures to identify defects or damages.
• Analyze building systems (structural, roofing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing) as needed.
• Prepare clear, concise, technically accurate reports with findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, engineers and legal professionals for expert support.
• Assist in litigation support including site visits, evidence collection, depositions, and trial testimony.
• Estimate repair and restoration costs based on evaluation and market analysis.
