Job summary

Lumen is seeking an experienced Fleet/Asset Manager to plan, organize, and direct fleet assets across a U.S. region, ensuring safe, reliable equipment and cost-efficient performance.

You will coordinate vendor resources, manage budgets, and deploy assets to meet business needs in a dynamic environment. The role requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to navigate unstructured work settings while maintaining compliance with policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform in unstructured environments with limited oversight.
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies, procedures, regulations, strategies and directions.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with varied levels of employees, suppliers, vendors and teammates; strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish multiple tasks with limited timelines; analyze information and make decisions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to accept and manage ambiguity/change with evolving business conditions.
• College degree or 5 years of business experience.
• Three years Fleet Management/Industry experience supervising a medium size Fleet Organization.
• Experience working with vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage operating expense and capital budgets to achieve cost-per-mile, utilization, and fleet sizing targets.
• Analyze data to identify performance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with vehicle- and equipment-using departments to align fleet execution with business objectives.
• Communicate with Business Unit leadership, operations management, vendors, and support teams to address fleet issues.
• Ensure timely issue resolution and asset redeployment when needed.
• Ensure compliance with policies, maintenance schedules, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with contracted call‑center operations to review repair and maintenance requests.
• Monitor fleet performance and drive continuous improvement with KPIs such as cost and cycle time.
