Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee asset acquisition, maintenance, and disposal within a U.S. geography. The role coordinates vendor resources, maintains compliance with DOT/ANSI, and drives cost-per-mile targets while aligning with business objectives.

Based in a Work-from-Home position across the United States, you will partner with operations and support teams to resolve fleet issues, manage budgets, and monitor KPIs for continuous improvement in performance and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a medium-sized fleet or similar transportation operation.
• Experience interpreting policies, procedures, and regulations to drive actions.
• Ability to build relationships across vendors, employees, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage operating and capital budgets to reach cost/mi targets and analyze performance data.
• Collaborate with departments to align fleet execution with business objectives.
• Coordinate with leadership, operators, vendors, and support teams to address fleet issues and resolve them promptly.
• Identify underutilized assets and redeploy, retire, or dispose as needed.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, ANSI, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with call-center operations to review repair/maintenance requests and assess vendor performance.
• Monitor fleet performance using KPIs and drive improvements in cost, repair cycle time, and repeat repairs.
• Track warranties and recalls to ensure compliance and cost recovery.
