Job summary

Teleport is seeking an experienced SRE/DevOps engineer to re‑engineer production and cloud infrastructure. You will work on Go code, Kubernetes, and global routing latency, with focus on security and reliability.

You will own observability, automation, on‑call duties, and incident response, collaborating with a small, mission‑driven team. Onboarding is in Oakland, CA, with remote‑first culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in Software Engineering or SRE/DevOps.
• Strong experience in Linux, networking, containers, and troubleshooting.
• Solid Go and production Kubernetes development experience.
• Technical leadership experience.
• AWS Cloud experience preferred; GCP acceptable.
• Familiarity with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki.
• Ability to operate in security‑critical environments.
• Curiosity to master new technologies and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Re-engineer the core Teleport product to scale globally.
• Rewrite portions of the core Teleport product for cloud goals.
• Build out monitoring/observability to detect production issues.
• Automate toil and reduce manual, repetitive work.
• Patch, scale, back up/restore, disaster recovery tasks.
• Investigate outages and incidents experienced by customers.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for 24/7 uptime.
