Coinbase is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Uber Tech Lead) for Identity & Access Management within Platform. Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering, with a track record as the most senior technical leader on a platform spanning multiple teams.
• Deep IAM expertise across workforce identity, authorization, access lifecycle, or non-human identity.
• Production Go experience and distributed systems design on AWS, with identity protocol fluency.
• Proven influence at senior levels and ability to align leaders on identity-risk problems.

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-year technical strategy for IAM end to end, unifying workforce, AI agent, and service identity.
• Set architecture standards and integration contracts across pods and teams.
• Drive adoption across 700+ systems, including migration paths and build-vs-buy decisions.
• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, IT, Infrastructure, and product leadership to translate regulatory requirements into automated controls.
• Lead data model and tooling to answer who has access to what and why.
• Mentor staff and grow identity as a domain within the org.
