Mattermost seeks a highly skilled Technical Sales Engineer to lead its regional technical activities in Japan, shaping growth in the Indo Pacific. You will drive presales demos, architect secure solutions, and collaborate with partners to ensure successful customer outcomes in high-trust environments.

You will be the technical face in Japan, translating customer needs to product and engineering teams while supporting key accounts and regional go-to-market initiatives.

Qualifications

• Senior-level technical sales experience in cybersecurity or high-growth SaaS/tech companies.
• Proven track record with defense, national security, or critical infrastructure customers.
• Native Japanese and strong English reading/writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional technical activities including presales architecture and product demos.
• Architect and deploy solutions in on-premise, air-gapped, and private cloud environments for defense customers.
• Collaborate with system integrators, VARs, and distributors to build a regional technical network.
• Translate complex technical details into value propositions for executives to frontline staff.
• Serve as the bridge between customers in Japan and global product/engineering teams to gather local requirements.
• Support technical engagements for key accounts to ensure mission outcomes and workflow goals.
