Job summary

Energetics is seeking an Industrial Energy System Modeler to support decarbonization across the U.S. industrial sector.

You will evaluate emerging technologies, perform techno-economic analyses, and translate complex findings into actionable insights for utilities and clients. The role combines engineering rigor with client engagement in a remote-first environment, offering ownership of projects and opportunities to shape new programs over time.

Qualifications

• Engineering or analytical background in mechanical, chemical, industrial, or process engineering.
• Hands-on experience with industrial process modeling.
• Strong TEA capabilities and Excel proficiency.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Experience with load flexibility or grid-interactive technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Model performance of emerging industrial technologies (heat pumps, electrode boilers, electric ovens/dryers).
• Conduct unit operations analyses within complex facility systems.
• Perform techno-economic analyses and ROI calculations.
• Assess site-specific applicability of new technologies.
• Develop reports and presentations for utilities and clients.
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to gather data.
