Job summary

Modern Family Law seeks a Family Law Paralegal in San Jose, CA to work directly with attorneys on divorce, child custody, property division, and support matters. This remote-first role requires drafting filings, managing deadlines, and communicating with clients.

The paralegal will carry a caseload, file with court systems, and maintain organized matters. Experience with NetDocuments, Salesforce, TimeSolv, and Microsoft 365 is preferred.

Qualifications

• Draft and prepare filings to keep matters moving.
• Manage deadlines and calendar requirements for cases.
• Communicate with clients professionally and promptly.
• Proficient in e-filing with county courts.
• Support multiple attorneys and work collaboratively.
• Accurately capture all billable work with clear narratives.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of family law matters from hire through resolution.
• Draft and prepare filings: Petitions, Summons, Case Info Sheets, Notices, and Motions.
• Manage deadlines and court requirements; ensure timely filings.
• Communicate with clients, answering questions and following up.
• Keep files organized and current for easy review by others.
• Collaborate with attorneys; anticipate needs and inform them.
