Job summary

Modern Family Law is hiring a Family Law Paralegal for our Seattle, WA office to work directly with attorneys on divorce, child custody, property division and support matters. This role carries its own caseload and drafts filings to move matters forward, including e-filing with county courts.

Remote-first environment with in-person needs; strong tech stack includes NetDocuments, Salesforce, TimeSolv and Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Family law experience required with ability to draft clean filings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients.
• Proficient in e-filing with major county courts.
• Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a law firm.
• Ability to capture all billable work accurately with clear narratives.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of family law matters from hire through resolution with attorneys.
• Draft and prepare filings: Petitions, Summons, Case Info Sheets, Notices, Entries of Appearance, and Motions.
• E-file with county courts and track status through portals.
• Own deadlines; calendars and filings stay current and on time.
• Talk to clients, answer questions, and follow up as needed.
• Work with attorneys as a teammate, communicating upcoming items proactively.
